GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a naturally occurring tripeptide with a strong affinity for copper ions. Complexation gives GHK-Cu chemical and biological properties distinct from those of the unbound GHK peptide.
Laboratory research commonly examines GHK-Cu in copper-transport and coordination studies, extracellular-matrix signaling, oxidative-stress models, gene-expression analysis, and cell-migration assays. Its blue coloration is an expected property of the copper complex and is not an added dye.
Supplied as 100 mg of lyophilized research material. The chemical characteristics identify the copper complex; identity and measured purity remain batch-specific.
